CONCEPT:
These Self priming pumps are of the recirculating type, whereby the liquid filled into the casing initially is circulated so that air drawn from the suction pipe is mixed with the circulating water discharged into the casing , resulting in air being released into the discharge piping and liquid returning into the volute chamber at a developed head for entrapping more air for removal.
CONCEPT:
Before starting for the first time , the pump body should be filled with liquid up to the level of the suction branch which is situated down the shaft; hence the whole impeller is immersed in the liquid. After the pump has received its initial charge of liquid the phenomenon described above takes place i.e. circulation and recirculation of liquid with which air or vapor is examined then forming an air - liquid mixture and subsequent seperation of air or vapour from the liquid. (Note: the discharge valve should be kept partially open, depending upon the head requirement but in no case shut off as the vapour has to be released.) The non-return valve which is fitted at the suction flange of pump, can be a simple flap type valve .These serves to retain liquid in the suction branch (casing) when the pump stops; other wise the whole liquid tend to get siphoned out.

Development on our product is a continuous operation at our works at Thane , hence the extension of the same on our chemical & Process pumps regarding sealing on the rotating shaft; most pumping problem occur in specific applications , and these problems result in Mechanical seal failure or bearing failure.
Kreisel Pumps have designed & developed a special dynamic seal in form of a expeller, installed behind the main impeller ; this prevents even drop leakage from stuffing box whil the pump is in operation; hence you could do away with mechanical seals which are costly & difficult to maintain specially when pumping Effluents, Slurries or saturated liquors; and it also balances hydraulic axial thrust resulting in higher bearing life.
We could retrofit also your old working pumps of Kreisel make with this dynamic seal.
